After more testing I've realized that this problem is not exclusively due to a temperature/voltage problem, it may be a combination of signal strength, resetting and IP issues caused (potentially) when using DHCP

@Jonathan - did you do a manual setup on the Twine and it still didn't connect to your hidden SSID? I'm extremely curious!

Be careful - the connection to the External Connector is not connected on my board. Look under magnification and you'll see that L2 is connected to the PCB antenna, and the inductor that connects to the connector, L1, is unpopulated.
